I, along with my family, met Josh onboard the Louis Majesty cruise ship. We sailed from Athens to Crete, visiting Mykonos, Patmos and Kusadasi along the way. Josh is a waiter in the ship’s main dining room and we were lucky enough to be seated in his section.
It soon became apparent to us that Josh is a not just a waiter, he is multi-talented man! Not only did he serve our table for dinner, he played the guitar while singing Elvis songs in his Filipino accent. He also built balancing acts out of forks and toothpicks, told us jokes and most importantly shared some is life with us.
We learned that Josh has a wife back home in the Philippines. He also has three kids, the oldest of which is ten (he’s been working on the cruise ships for twelve years… you do the math). Needless to say, we all felt a bit sad after hearing how little time Josh was able to spend with his family, but he always kept a smile on his face and he seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. I know each of us will remember Josh for making our trip extra special.
